Agenda:
I Session - Introduction to embedded systems
II Session - The essential toolbox
III Session - Real life application examples

More details on dotnetumbria.org.

You can read about one of the very interesting projects presented - the MicroGardener - at innovactive.it website (if you can Italian).

.NET Micro Framework is a technology allowing you to use the same .NET Framework skills on small devices with few resources. This event wants to show technologies on a real world without slides, only code, thus we'll discuss about .NET Micro Framework, the hardware we can use and which are the main issues we can find during the development. The aim is to create an home system software to manage appointments, show pictures and receive notifications.

This session ("Micro Framework for big features in real world", Italian only) is scheduled on Friday, December 4th, starting at 17.30. See aspitalia.com for more information.

A .NET Micro Framework session (in Czech) was present on the fourth IT and developer Microsoft Fest conference. Pavel Bánský was speaking this time. Because almost everyone rised hand when Pavel asked if they already worked with .NET Micro Framework, we will likely prepare some more advanced topics for the next time.

The .NET Micro Framework related session is scheduled on Sunday, November 29th, starting at 15.30. You can register on altairis, everything else like in the previous year. Complete event schedule available on www.ms-fest.cz.

Pavel's session at Microsoft (Thursday, December 11, 2008 5:00 PM - Thursday, December 11, 2008 8:00 PM +01:00)

Microsoft, s.r.o.

BB Centrum, budova Alpha
Vyskočilova 1461/2a
140 00 Praha 4

ground floor

I have the honour of being invited by Pavel Bánský to join his session (in Czech) in local Microsoft's building. Pavel will talk about the basic .NET Micro Framework architecture and philosophy, its business model and will show some cool demos, like those presented on VŠB Ostrava, and I will talk about new stuff in the 3.0 version, web services, the porting kit and hopefully will have some cool demos too, like those that will be presented at MS FEST. I will bring some hardware too, for the case anyone is considering a purchase.

You can register at altairis server, it's the first non-academic .NET Micro Framework event here, and you are welcomed, all of you. :-) Entrance is free.

Microsoft Fest 2008 (Saturday, November 29, 2008 9:00 AM - Sunday, November 30, 2008 6:00 PM +01:00)

room S9, first floor

I invite anyone to join us at Microsoft Fest 2008 student festival, where we will talk (in Czech, however) about .NET Micro Framework technology and the released third version, show some examples and new hardware boards (from GHI and Device Solutions). I will have some for sale with me in case you were interested (pricing in the e-shop), but rather leave some e-mail if you know you would like to buy one, as this is actually not a sales action.

The .NET Micro Framework related session is scheduled on Saturday, November 29th, starting at 16.30. It should take one to two hours, depends on your interest (and my skills :)). You can register on altairis, later I guess on the netstudent.cz as well. Of course you can come without registration, but it may happen that there will be not enough place to sit. (However, I think that it won't be that bad on this - last on Saturday - session.)

The second session in our country, as you probably alreay know from Pavel Bánský blog, took place on Monday, 10th March 2008 at VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava during a presentation day about embedded technologies for students. Pavel had a chance to introduce the .NET Micro Framework to students and he definitely did not miss it, he showed plenty of cool demos, introduced ad showed the development boards by Digi, SJJ Micro and Device Solutions. We have also seen the .NET Micro Framework version 2.5 running, including a simple web server demo. The presentation is, though in Czech only as well, available on his blog (rename ZIP to PPTX). I haven't received any confirmation I can publish info about the session in advance.

The first session in the Czech Republic dedicated to the .NET Micro Framework took place on Tuesday, 8th January 2008 at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague. The presentation also contains ommited slides about networking (from the SocketClient, meet SocketServer document) and overview of Windows Rally Technologies. Though, examples of web services (from the Introducing Devices Profile for Web Services document) and emulators details are missing at the moment.
